Halo, The Reach Minimize

The Halo franchise has become one of the most well know franchises of all time, and many have become addicted to the sniping, and knifing(Energy Sword) in multiplayer, while others love the epic storytelling; and traveling through space. Halo as a franchise has gone on to shatter many sales Records, while many gaming franchises would love to be as successful, Microsoft doesn't see this as the top of the mountain for the series, and it is clear that they want to present the franchise in new and original ways. Which is most evident base on this years release of Halo Wars, a real time strategy base on the Halo universe. Halo wars as expected achieved some retail success, by breaking the 1 million mark fairly quickly, on the flip side it was also one of the most traded in games shortly after it’s release, and this is Likely because most Halo fans don’t like RTS games. However before the release of Halo wars, yet another Halo game was announced, Halo Recon. Which has since been rename as Halo O.D.S.T.  Halo O.D.S.T was reportedly only an expansion to Halo 3, when Bungie decide to make it a full game, and raise the price from it’s original 49.99 to 59.99 stating they have add so much content to the game that it had become a full game, and not just an expansion. Halo O.D.S.T is slated for release this holiday, and plans to take you on a ride through time as you figure out what happened to the now destroyed New Mombasa.  New Mombasa leaves behind only artifacts that you will used to unravel the mystery of the story, following the Prophet of Regret's escape.  Even though Halo O.D.S.T hasn’t been release yet, the reason many will buy the game is because of its promise to give you a preview into the next big game in the Halo franchise,Halo Reach. So as it seems, we are going to play Halo, so we can, Play Halo!? I guess that’s correct, and if were honest I think most of us are excited about Halo O.D.S.T based on what we’ve seen, and Played (if you were at E3), but a majority of gamers, even though they haven’t played O.D.S.T, what to purchase it to play Halo Reach. Is Halo a Game that's so revolutionary that we should have two version in one year, or has Halo become the next Call of Duty, and should We expect A Halo every year? This is a question that only the industry can answer. If we purchase ever version of Halo in record numbers than its likely we will see another. However with great power comes great responsibility, and as we have seen before with many franchise, as they achieve great success the quality tends to degrade over time; the same can happen with Halo, and many would argue it already has.  The Halo train is not even close to being over, and as of 08-6-2009 the next induction to the Halo franchise was just released, Halo Risk a Halo version of the board game Risk, boasting its biggest feature which allows you to play as the flood. To sum up my original question has Halo gone to far? Is Master Chef the next Mario? Who also has a board game, (Nintendo Monopoly) which released a few years ago. Mario however , has been around for at least 20 years. Yet Halo has come about only within the last 10 years, and is possible pushing the much loved Master chef beyond the likes of Mario. It almost seems more, and more is being released about Halo everyday, and judging by the recent announcement of the Halo Anime, they don’t intend to stop the Halo train any time soon. What do you think? How far is to far? You be the judge, as you will be, when the next installment of the series releases, and the sales data doesn’t lie.
